Appearance: Yellow to grayish green crystalline powder or flaky crystals, prone to oxidation and discoloration in the air.

Melting point: 185-189℃ (some literature records 184-186℃).
Boiling point: 371℃ (decomposes under normal pressure).
Solubility
○ Readily soluble in benzene, ether and hot acetic acid;
○ Slightly soluble in ethanol and mineral oil;
It is almost insoluble in water (solubility only 2 mg/L at 25℃), petroleum ether and chloroform.
Stability: It is prone to oxidation under light and decomposes with acids to produce toxic gases (such as sulfur oxide and nitrogen oxide).

Polymerization inhibitor: It is used in the production of alken-based monomers such as acrylic acid and vinyl acetate to prevent the polymerization reaction from getting out of control.
Rubber antioxidant: Delays rubber aging and enhances material durability.
Dye intermediates: Synthetic organic dyes and functional pigments.

Insect repellent: It has a remarkable killing effect on gastrointestinal nematodes in cattle, sheep and horses, such as stomach worms and nodular worms.
Fruit tree insecticide: It is used to control orchard pests and is safer than some synthetic pesticides.
