1. Indications and usage
Core purpose:It is suitable for the prevention of iodine deficiency disorders (endemic goiter, cretinism), especially for people in iodine-deficient areas
Dosage form and dosage:
Dosage form | Usage |
---|---|
Tablet | For children over 4 years old and adults: 0.3-0.4 mg per day; Pregnant women/lactating women: 0.3-0.45 mg per day |
Granule | Dissolve in warm water just before use. For children over 4 years old: 0.15-0.3 mg per day |
Oral liquid | The same tablet dosage |
It is metabolized into iodide ions in the body, participates in the synthesis of thyroid hormones (T3/T4), and regulates metabolism and growth and development.
Therapeutic dose safety:It is non-toxic to the human body when the daily intake is ≤60 mg, but excessive intake can cause thyroid dysfunction.
Health risk
Acute toxicity: Abdominal LD₅₀=136 mg/kg in mice; Oral administration can cause headache, nausea and vomiting. High doses can damage the liver/kidneys and the central nervous system.
Chronic effects: Long-term excessive intake may lead to hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism. Pregnant women should use with caution (it may cause thyroid abnormalities in the fetus).
Contraindications: Iodine allergy and patients with hyperthyroidism are contraindicated. Use with caution in patients with renal insufficiency or hyperkalemia.
Operation and Storage
Protective requirements: Wear dust masks, chemical goggles and rubber gloves when operating, and put on anti-toxic suits.
Storage conditions: Store in a cool and well-ventilated place (≤30℃), away from light, sealed, and isolated from reducing agents and flammable materials.
Environment and Fire Protection
In case of leakage, use sand and soil to absorb it. Do not directly rinse with water (to prevent explosion).
When a fire breaks out, use mist water, sand or dry powder to extinguish it.
