The tri(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP hydrochloride) is a novel reducing and deprotection agent for sulfonated DNA. The sulfur atoms at the terminal of sulfonated DNA tend to form dimers in solution, especially in the presence of oxygen. This dimerization significantly reduces the efficiency of some coupling reaction experiments (such as the immobilization of DNA in biosensors); by adding tri(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP hydrochloride) to the DNA solution and removing it after a certain period of time, the dimerization of DNA can be reduced.
The tri(2-cyanoethyl) phosphonic acid salt is an organic phosphorus compound. It can be used as a water-soluble reagent for the selective reduction of disulfides; it is more stable than DTT in mass spectrometry applications; and it can also be used for the selective reduction of disulfides in water.
