The PVPP obtained through different synthesis methods varies in some properties due to the different cross-linking methods and degrees of cross-linking. Depending on the degree of cross-linking, PVPP exhibits super water-absorbing resin (low cross-linking degree), water-absorbing gel (medium cross-linking degree), and insoluble substances (high cross-linking degree). Compared with PVP, PVP is a water-soluble polymer, while PVPP can only swell in water.
